Suze Orman born Susan Lynn, is an accomplished financial advisor and motivational coach. The 69 year-old, born on June 5th, 1951, is a well known author in America as well as a motivational speaker and podcaster.
Suze Orman is most known for her public speaking and books in the personal finance and self-help genre. Her most popular books among many others are The Laws of Money:The Lessons of Life and Woman and Money: Owning the Power to Control Your Destiny, published in 2003 and 2007 respectively.

Suze Orman Personal History
In 1951 on June 5th Suze Orman was born in Chicago to parents who were Jewish of Romanian and Russian origin, Morry and Ann Orman. Her mum was a secretary and her dad worked in a factory, as well as managing a deli.
In 1976, she gained a B.A degree in social work at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Then from the same university, in 2009 she earned an honorary doctorate of humane letters. From Bentley University in 2010 she received an honorary doctorate of commercial science. The same year Orman married Kathy Travis.
Suze Orman Professional Career
Once Orman had finished school she moved to California, she then got a job role as a waitress, soon after she borrowed money to open her own restaurant. Suze was a novice in investment, she then later trained as an account executive for Merrill Lynch. Once she finished her training she stayed at the firm, then in 1983 she moved to Prudential Bache Securities where she became the vice president. She then resigned in 1987 when she established the company the Suze Orman Financial Group in California, she was the director until 1997. Whilst she was there she wrote a booklet named The Facts on Single Premium Whole Life, this compares single premium deferred annuities, universal life and single premium whole life, these were distributed for free.
In 2002, on CNBC the Suze Orman show aired until 2008, she also appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show, promoting her books which generated around 2 million downloads. She has also been on Saturday Night Live, Food Network’s Paula Party, Oprah’s Allstars and a TV series, America’s Money Class with Suze Orman.
In addition, Orman has written for many companies including; an advice column for the Oprah Magazine, Yahoo!s Money Matters, Costco connection magazine, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Your Business at Home Magazine and Lowes MoneyWorks. Orman in 2016 was made The United States Army and Army Reserves educator for personal finance. Then in 2018, she became a special advocate for the hotline for National Domestic Violence, helping spread awareness relating to financial abuse.
Furthermore, Suze Orman has twice been named as one of the most influential people on the Times 100 list, as well as winning eight Gracie awards and two Emmy awards. She has also published ten books between 1995 and 2020 which are all New York Times bestsellers in the personal finance genre. The books are titled;
