Rachel Hollis Personal History
Hollis’s grandparents were from Oklahoma, they picked cotton in an attempt to support all of their six children. Upon finishing high school, Rachel moved to live in Los Angeles, California. When she arrived, she got a job at an American entertainment company called Miramax. Whilst she was working there, she then met her husband, Dave, as well as founding Chic Events, which is an event-planning business.
After the success of her first book, Rachel Hollis moved just outside of Austin in Texas.
Dave and Rachel Hollis together have four children. However, in 2020, they announced that they were separating.

In 2019, Girl, Stop Apologising was published. Rachel has seen all too many times, women not living up to their full potential because they are worried about being embarrassed or not being perfect. She believes that women are taught to define themselves not entirely as they are and not learning what exactly they want. Instead they are defined as a daughter, mother or wife etc. In her book, she pushes people to reach for their dreams, stop using excuses and adopt new skills and behaviours to grow in confidence.
In september 2020, HarperCollins released Rachel’s book named, Didn’t See That Coming. This book is about working through loss, grief and crisis’. She writes in her book, that it is up to you to move through pain instead of being stuck in one place in your life, where you may get hurt or feel low.
